Recliner chairs: ergonomics and ease of use
The Durlet recliner is a refined specimen of ergonomic thinking. In the reclined position, the angles of the chair are attuned to the ‘zero gravity position’, the natural position of the body in weightless state. Result: a completely relaxed position.
Ergonomics
Durlet’s recliner chairs are the product of long and thorough preparation. The system was designed in cooperation with Haelvoet, a company specialised in hospital and rest-home furniture. The combined know-how of Haelvoet (ergonomics, mechanics, engineering and metal-working) and Durlet (comfort studies, market awareness and knowledge, design, finishing) has resulted in a product of the highest quality.
Resting, reading and watching TV
All recliner chairs are built on the same tried and tested basic frame. That frame contains a head support which you can click into three positions. Thus, you can lie completely flat, but also read a book or watch TV with your head supported. In the resting position, the leg support slides out and forward into place for an optimal position.
Easy to operate
Another plus point about the armchairs is their ease of operation. Durlet has found a perfect equilibrium between women and men: notwithstanding their different body builds and centres of gravity, both can put the recliner chair effortlessly into the desired position. The mechanism is operated by means of a sturdy, solid metal handle of a neutral design.
For large and small
All recliner chairs (except the MVS Lounge Chair) are available in both low and high models. The latter stands higher off the ground, has a higher back rest and a longer leg support. The differences in size are calculated on the basis of ergonomic data banks: both large and small will find their ideal sitting position with both models.
The relaxation mechanism is almost invisible: so very slim models can be built around it. For the springs, Durlet has chosen steel nosag springs: sagging onto the mechanism is simply impossible.
Choice of base
With the exception of the
MVS Lounge Chair, you have a choice of three possibilities for the foot of the recliner chairs: an aluminium star-shaped base, a black wooden disc-shaped base or a leather-covered wooden disc-shaped foot. The base turns 360° around the central support.
